George Orwell’s famous Animal Farm comes to life in a bold, visually striking production created for teenage and older learners of English.
When the animals of Manor Farm decide they’ve had enough of being controlled by humans, they dream of creating a new society where every animal is a and equal. But as the pigs begin to take control, their exciting revolution slowly becomes something very different.
Using accessible English while retaining the power, humour and darkness of Orwell’s story, the production introduces students to its unforgettable characters while exploring themes of power, equality, propaganda , leadership, freedom and corruption.
Our high-tech LED wall creates the changing world of Animal Farm around the actors, helping to establish different scenes, locations and moments within the story.
The visual environment also provides valuable context for students following a full theatrical production in English.
The production uses theatre equipment, lighting and sound to create an atmospheric and immersive experience. These technical elements work together with the live actors to transform Orwell’s famous novel from something studied on the page into a story unfolding directly in front of the students.
A powerful theatrical experience that brings Orwell’s classic to life while supporting students’ English comprehension, vocabulary, confidence and critical thinking — and leaving them with plenty yo discuss long after the final scene.
Before & after the show
Dedicated Animal Farm workbooks and educational materials will be available through the Beyond Borders Productions website.
The pre-show resources will help prepare students for the performance by introducing important vocabulary, characters, historical context and key themes, allowing them to approach the English-language production with greater confidence.
Following the performance, post-show materials will encourage students to explore Orwell’s ideas in greater depth, revisit key vocabulary and develop their English through comprehension, discussion and classroom activities.
This creates a complete educational journey: prepare before the performance, experience the story through live theatre, and continue learning afterwards.
Workshop or Q&A
Schools can choose between an interactive workshop or a Question & Answer session following the performance.
The workshop gives students the opportunity to revisit and practise key English vocabulary and language from the production while exploring its characters, themes and ideas through theatre-based activities.
Alternatively, the Q&A gives students the chance to engage directly with the company, discuss the production and its themes, and practise asking and answering questions in English.
